Compared with ordinary carbon steels, 09CrCuSb offers significantly improved durability and service life in corrosive industrial conditions.
Mechanically, the steel has moderate strength and toughness. Typical tensile strength is around 400–550 MPa, with yield strength of 250–400 MPa and elongation of 20% or higher, depending on heat treatment and plate thickness. It maintains good weldability and formability, allowing fabrication without the need for preheating or post-weld heat treatment under most conditions.
